Indian Idol: the most popular reality show is back on SET Asia

The immensely successful third season of Indian Idol aired on SET Asia has brought to the platform pure Indian talent from across the world and contestants from all strata of the society. The contestants of Indian Idol 3 are very hopeful and they have come with genuine talent and sincerity to realize their dreams and put fame and fortune within their reach.

SET Asia has given the contestants an opportunity to showcase their exceptional talent on the nation’s largest platform, which isn’t a mean task. The gala round will start from June 29, 2007 with 13 contestants. The most famous contestant of Indian Idol 3 is Prashant Tamang who has made the people of Darjeeling crazy with his singing ability. The Nepali community is united in the bid to make Prashant the next Indian Idol. Prashant has become the topic of discussion daily in every gathering among the Indians of Nepali origin in Darjeeling, Kurseong, Sikkim, Kalingpong, Miriks, Doers etc. The young people in Mirik have also made arrangements to watch Indian Idol 3 on a large screen at the Mirik city center while the villagers who don’t have access to the cable television travel up to the cities to watch Indian Idol. Meiyang Chang an Indian- born Chinese dentist has quickly become a hot favourite as the viewers of the reality show Indian Idol 3 have been showering him votes to keep him in top 10. He has garnered much support among netizens as he is the only third-generation Indian-born Chinese in the finals of Indian Idol. This cute boy has fans from Singapore as well who catches the show in their native land on Sony Entertainment Television Asia.
Anu Mallik told Chang on one episode of Indian Idol that “I love your voice , it is magical. You will make it to top 5”. Udit once described his singing as fantastic.

The girls who are competing in the third season of Indian Idol are showing off not just talent, but also oodles of glamour, style and attitude.
